CFRE Team,

As we reflect on 2025 and look ahead to a new year, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone across our division who made it a remarkable year. Together, we have advanced projects and initiatives that will shape the University of Florida for generations to come.

In 2025, our division delivered truly transformational work. Thanks to the hard work of Planning, Design and Construction, the Bruno E. and Maritza F. Ramos Collaboratory opened its doors, providing state-of-the-art space for research, teaching, and fabrication that will prepare the next generation of world-class design and construction leaders. PD&C also launched several major projects that will continue to advance the mission and vision of our university, including renovating the former Infirmary building for the Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education, the New Music Building Addition, and the College of Dentistry Addition and Renovation — historic investments in academic, research, and clinical space that will strengthen UF’s impact across our state and beyond.

Further, the Office of Real Estate played a pivotal role in extending UF’s reach and visibility in 2025, closing on a property in downtown Jacksonville that will become a new UF Graduate campus, showcasing programs in business, engineering, and law, among others. This project represents a bold leap forward for the university, cultivating new opportunities for students, faculty, and the surrounding community in a strategic location that drives talent, innovation and research.

Across Facilities Services, our team continued to set a high bar for excellence, earning the 2025 APPA Award for Excellence in Facilities Management, one of the profession’s highest honors. This award is a powerful affirmation of UF’s position as a national leader in operational excellence and facilities stewardship. In addition, Facilities Services’ continued investment in efficient cooling systems, LED lighting, and smart controls reduced energy waste while improving the campus experience. We will build on this progress by expanding alternative energy solutions and innovative strategies to manage demand, control costs, and strengthen our utility system resilience.

As we begin 2026, we will carry this momentum forward—advancing major capital projects, strengthening UF’s growing presence across Florida, and continuing to provide the vital, high-quality services that support our campus community every day. Together, these efforts ensure that learning, teaching, and discovery will continue to thrive across the university.

I’d like to thank each of you for the expertise and dedication you bring to your work every day. There is still much to do ahead of us, and we are well positioned to succeed because of the strong foundation we have built together. I am proud of what we have collectively accomplished in 2025, and optimistic for what is to come in the year ahead.

Wishing you and your families a healthy and prosperous 2026.
